A lone person faces a heroic journey across unknown lands.

Tarot is Gandalf

Our own hero’s journey often begins with a crisis – one that threatens our physical and emotional safety. It comes swiftly and unlooked for, and knocks the wind out of us. To meet the challenge we know we need a strategy. We need the confidence and skills to take action, and we want some reassurance that we’ll meet allies along the way that we can ask for help.

⬖ What we really need is a wizard!

A wise mentor who can see the journey ahead and kick us out the door to our adventure. Tarot is like our inner Gandalf. The cards can help us visualize the complete journey of throwing whichever burdensome ring life has handed us into the fires of Mount Doom, all before we take the first step.

The cards can map out how our world was rocked, our identity shaken, our everyday turned into an uphill battle. Like Gandalf, Tarot brings a collection of timeless human wisdom, gathered over hundreds of years, which can take an objective step back and make a plan based on the essence of the situation: the potential outcomes, the strengths and friends we have, the pitfalls we should avoid, the skills we need to master.

Finally, Tarot can speak to us of what could be even more frightening than taking the first step, or facing an enemy, it can tell us how the journey will change us – what we might lose, what we could gain, how and why we ended up here in the first place.

Once the map is drawn and the courage and allies gathered, the journey from crisis to healing will make sense, making it much easier (dare I say even a little exciting?) to accept the quest. To bravely step through the door and allow ourselves to be irrevocably changed by the adventure.
